Poker Players who are dealt a monster early in the Flop should sandbag the hand until the very end if it is possible. They should pass and not bet when possible and hope that one of the callers will make a good second best hand. Betting and raising early is only going to alert the other players that you may have a strong hand. Just calling makes them think that you are playing a poker hand that needs to make a draw. Hiding the power of your hand is the way to play this monster. Betting it and raising with it is bad play unless you have a victim early in the hand. Every now an then you will catch a bluffer with these hidden cards. Let them bluff you as much as they want to as you have them is a lock.
There is no reason to be over anxious to bet a strong hand unless you are getting some early strong play or the Flop has become potentially dangerous to your hand. If you have trips and the Flop has a potential flush or straight, you better bet your hand to protect it and make a draw a costly venture for the other casino player. You never want to give free cards in this situation as the free cards can end up costing you money. Make the drawer pay to see the next card. The real problem play is when you have aces and the Flop looks benign to you. You should bet as it only takes trips to beat you and you do not know if the other players have a pair also. Make them pay dearly to draw against your aces as a lousy little pair that catches a third one can crack them. Slow playing aces is a dangerous exercise and a player that does it may not like the results.
The same can be said for any high pair as in that case it only would take a pair of aces to beat them. Trips can be played slow as the other players are drawing up the hill to beat you. The only caveat is if the board develops into a possible straight draw or flush draw. Bet to make the opponent pay to beat you.
