After the shooter makes a point number, what bets should be considered by the active dice player? The behind the line bet taking the odds is a definite yes, as this bet cuts the house edge significantly. There are two other bets to consider. The player can bet on the come line and also place bets on other numbers than the point. The come line bet is just like the pass line bet except it only come in to play when there is a point being rolled for. A come line bet is like a new pass line bet in that it can only win if it repeats before a seven is thrown. The other advantage is you can bet behind the line just like you can on the pass line once a point number is thrown.
When the craps table is not letting shooters make a lot of passes this bet on the come line should be done in moderation. When the numbers are flowing and shooters are making their points, this bet should be used to the max along with the place bets and the buying the four and the ten. When numbers are repeating in bunches this is a good time to press these bets up and hope that you can get a three or four number repeat. When this happens $40 can quickly grow to several hundred dollars.
If you are making place bets and come bets at the same time, if a place bet wins and it is now a come bet point, move the place bet to the odds on the come bet. You will get a better payoff if it hits again. Money management is very important in a dice game. An excellent dice player will be moving his money around the table to consistently take advantage of better odds on the bet. They want to cut the house edge to the minimum and get the maximum payoff they can get on all of their bets. You will not see them putting money on field bets and big six or big eight bets. They know these are very good for the house and very poor bets for the player.
When a point is established, think come bet. This is the next bet after taking the odds on the point.
