Gambling on the draw is part of poker in all games. Omaha and Omaha HiLow are no exception to this The draw in these games can be very interesting when you have four cards and you are going to get five more cards to make a poker hand out of. This makes this draw a little more attractive to the poker player and some will be more than willing to take the chance. Gambling entails risk and poker players that are good at the game will take intelligent risks. They do not play hands where the pot odds are not favorable. The draw in Omaha could have multiple outs and if the pot odds were correct the player would be wise to take the plunge.

When to gamble on a draw and when not to gamble is what poker is all about. The decision to call the bets and gamble on the draw is an individual judgment. These plays are a matter for thoughtful consideration and calculation. There is no such thing as gambling without taking risk. Risk and gambling go together like snow and winter. They cannot be separated from one another. If you try, you will be frustrated and will be hard pressed to be a good poker player.

The cards held and the Flop makes good hands. There is no way to play and not gamble on the draw. There is never a hand dealt in Omaha that is a lock until after the Flop. The game by the way it is played forces all players to gamble some and near the end of the hand sometimes a lot. Good players accept this given as part of the game. They know you cannot hide from taking risk and play well. Some players go overboard the other way and raise on the come. If they make their hand and it holds up they will win a bigger pot. If they lose they seem to shake it off and try again next time. These players are very dangerous when they get a rush going. A player that bets on the come and makes their hand will continue doing it until their luck is proven to be lousy. This kind of a player will make the game active and the pots are much larger due to the come bets.
