Income from Online Gambling
Do you make a significant income from online gambling? If so, how do you allocate that money? Does it go into your checking account to help pay bills, or do you stash the money away in a savings account for luxury purchases? Personally, I wouldn't say I make a "significant" income from gambling, because it's less than 10% of my total income. Since I can't depend on it to pay the bills, I just deposit it into my savings account for big-ticket items.

That's pretty much what I do, too. Like I was saying in another thread, my grandfather made a living by gambling on card games for years, but I'm not that good, lol. We don't depend on the money I win from gambling, so when I do win, we look at it as a sort of financial "treat", if you will. We've bought some pretty nice toys with my winnings - like a flat screen TV, for example. :~)

I wish I were a professional gambler! That would be very nice. I divide my little winnings in half, even small winnings. I put back half of the money in savings and half into my fun jar. I just like to think that I am saving a little bit, no matter how small the amount.

I second that notion, Cha Ching! I wish I were a professional gambler, too. When you watch the World Series of Poker on TV, they make it look so fun and easy! As for me, I don't make any serious money gambling, but we save it up all year long and at the end of the year, we use it to fund our Christmas shopping.

I don't make a significant income from gambling, so when I win, I use the money to "treat" myself to something I wouldn't have been able to buy otherwise, like a new TV or video game console, for example.

I don't make a "significant" income from gambling. In fact, I probably lose more than I win, ha ha! I don't really care though, because we always make sure our bills are paid and we have food to eat before I gamble, and I'm gambling to have a good time, not to walk away rich.

How I wish I have the skill in gambling for me to earn a living from it. I gamble for the sake of pleasure. There are times when I win big but I usually end losing.

There are people who can make gambling as their main source of income. They are good at gambling and they create strategies that can make them win more than losing. As for me, I guess I cannot do it and I'd rather rely on a stable job.

I agree with Kale about preferring to rely on a stable job rather than on gambling for income. While it would be great to be that good as a gambler, I still wouldn't let loose of my 9-5 job.
As for my income from gambling, last year I think I made about $6,000 dollars, so I'd say I fared pretty well. =)

Not all people are gifted when it comes to gambling. Most of us gamble because we just want to have a break from our busy schedules once in a while. Simply put, we gamble to have fun and winning is only one of the perks associated with gambling. Although I gamble hoping to win some money too, I always have a good time, win or lose. So far, I can say that I have won more than I have lost but it is not that big. What's important is the pleasure I derive from gambling which may be priceless...
